In 2010, we joined a grassroots effort to pass felony animal abuse legislation. They were doing good work but did not have a professional presence with branding or any means of raising funds other than through donations.
We volunteered to help them with their branding and social media presence. We then set up an income stream to generate funds for flyers, permits, and more. The way the community came together was inspirational. The social media site gathered close to 30, 000 fans up from the original 5, 000. Their flyers, lawn signs, t-shirts and car decals were helping to promote the effort as well as generate the funds they needed.
Through our work with them, we got roped into helping to raise funds for dogs that needed urgent help. The more stressful experience involved getting a healthy young dog out of a kill shelter before they were killed. The experience gave us a deeper empathy for rescuers and veterinarians. Our own experience dealing with pets needing extensive vet care reminded us of the anxiety if not outright terror pet lovers experience when their pet falls ill or hurts themselves. We wanted to help.
If you have spent any time on social media, you would have seen many requests for help. It can be anything from an injured pet needing surgery to a child or adult needing medical help. Anyone who can should find a way to help them even if it is just $1 at a time. Therefore with our skills, we created AnySpecies.com. We may not be able to handle rescuing dogs from the precipice of euthanasia, but we can be effective behind the scenes. This is not about donations, we want you to have something back for your generosity. Do donations help? Of course. However we think donations should go directly to the recipient.
Thank you for being part of the solution. With your support so many can be helped.
